Finding Love in the Little Things

, , ,

I am addicted to books. More specifically, Diana Gabaldon‘s Outlander series. I’ve been reading them for years and squealed like a teen set loose in a high end clothing store with no spending limit when they announced the books would be made into a Starz TV show.

So when I come across little memes with our very handsome Sam Heughan (who plays Jaime Fraser) and a tag line from the books, I just have to swoon. (A million thank yous to whoever makes these btw)

Now don’t get me wrong, I love my husband. (See honey no need to be jealous of an actor and/or a book.). Now if only I could convince him to speak Gaelic and call me Sassanach. 🙂

Now what does this have to do with love? Because I happened to text this to my hubby today and had a bit of fun with it. Adults are so serious all the time. When you are dating, you often find time to play jokes, laugh a lot and have fun.

When you’re married, sometimes work, kids, and other responsibilities make you forget to play. However being a bit silly is how we can relax, strengthen our bonds, and keep a marriage alive.

What are your little things you do to keep love in your life?

“Not yet, mo duinne.” His hands came hard around my waist, settling and slowing me, pressing me down until I did groan.

“Not yet. We’ve time. And I mean to hear ye groan like that again. And to moan and sob, even though you dinna wish to, for ye canna help it. I mean to make you sigh as though your heart would break, and scream with the wanting, and at last to cry out in my arms, and I shall know that I’ve served ye well.”

Finding the Light in the Dark

, , , , ,

In the darkness I rode. I rode with darkness so long, that I began to call it friend. What a lonely creature darkness is, and so unhappiness spread. There comes a time when a person must choose to continue the path to nothingness, or rise above the rest.

When your heart makes the choice of darkness, you sink into a miry abyss of pain. Yet those who wait in the light with outstretched hand weeps for those who are lost, and those not yet lost, but on their way.

My friends I wish I could say that all who have been entrenched in the deepest of the dark can attain full light. The reality is that few attain that goal.

So how do you pull yourself out of the black abyss? Find hope. Grab it by the mane of life and cling to it till you one day find yourself blinded by all that is good in the world of light. Follow hope my friends.

Blessings, Love, & Light

Blessings, Love, & Light. It’s a simple greeting. It’s one I have used for years to express my personal and spiritual wishes of well being for my fellow man. (or woman). I spent many years writing on my other blog Salem’s Creations. It took me many days to come up with Salem’s Creations (SC) for my blogs name.

I’ve been bouncing around the idea of making a new blog, as I’ve felt I had outgrown SC. When I made that blog, I felt the need to share thoughts and wisdom about my faith. That is all well and good, and sometimes I may do that still. However this blog’s focus will be a little different.

The focus of this blog shall be to spread positive thought. Our days are full of negative thoughts, feelings, words and actions. I’d like to bring a bit of light into your life. So, I bring you, Blessings, Love, & Light my dear friends. Welcome to my new home.
